It’s the big day, but what do you wear? The most important thing to remember is to be yourself! However, if you are still struggling, here are some helpful suggestions.
  • Bring multiple changes of clothing. It will bring more variety to your photos, and you will be happier with the end result.
  • Solid colors photograph the best. They are the least distracting and keep the main focus on you.
  • If you are in sports, please bring your jersey and other accessories such as balls, bats, helmets, cleats, etc. Many schools will let you check out your uniform out of season. Just stop by your school office and ask.
  • Bring your prom dress. Prom dresses always make for a fun shoot!
  • Avoid horizontal stripes at all cost. They are way too distracting.
  • Feel free to wear plaid. However bolder/thicker plaid patterns work best. Small/skinny plaid patterns are very busy and become distracting. Remember you are the main focus of the photo.
  • In general, avoid clothing with busy designs.
  • Avoid clothing with many colors. The more colors you have, the more distracting your clothes become.
